2023 Marshall County Ramp Dinner and Dance
May 6th, 2023 – This is a Free event to attend! There is a cost associated with food & other activities. The schedule of events is listed below! Proudly Sponsored By USI:
Be the first Marshall County Ramp Eating Champion! The contest will be timed. Whoever eats the most ramps within that time will wins. The top 3 will receive awards!
Ramp Eating Contest:
- Participant that eats the most Ramps in 60 seconds will be crowned the Champion.
- Ramps will be provided.
- There are only 12 openings for the contest – Register at www.grandvuepark.com or call the Grand Vue Park Main Office at 304-845-9810 ext. 403
- You MUST eat all the white: If any white remains on the ramp it will not be counted.
- Water may be consumed during the contest; water will be provided.
- When time concludes any ramps remaining in mouths must be eaten to be counted.
Awards (Participants must be 16 or older)
1st: $100 check & bottle of mouthwash
2nd: $70 GVP Gift Certificate & bottle of mouthwash
3rd: $40 GVP Gift Certificate & bottle of mouthwash
What are Ramps?
Ramps are known as wild leeks, which are native to West Virginia. They belong to the lily family and are close relatives of the onion and garlic.

Join us for an evening of Music & Square Dancing with the band Deep Down Country and hardy ramp delicacies by South Paw Eatz! Food is first come first served unless you purchase a food ticket in advance! We highly recommend saving a few bucks and confirming your meal before the event! Go to www.southpawwv.com then “orders”. Location: Big Red Barn
Parking: Park below the barn or below the basecamp zipline – No Parking will be available by the barn – There will be a side by side to taxi attendees up and down the hill by the barn.
